Guest Speaker - Opening Ceremony

Each year, we like to invite a guest speaker from our university who can share their experiences in science & STEM.
This year's speaker is ANNA MOORE, an instructor with our Department of Sustainability & Environment!
Anna's story includes:
  • "I've worked as a sustainability coordinator for Live Nation and Sodexo (experience starting recycling and composting programs and implementing other waste reduction strategies), and now I teach and mentor students who want to make positive change at USD.
  • I'm the faculty advisor for the Environmental Club,
  • I also coordinate the Sustainability Living Learning Community where students interested in sustainability live together on the same floor of a residence hall,
  •  Additionally, I'm active in the local nonprofit organization Greening Vermillion, organizing annual Earth Week events and community bicycle rides!"
In 2021, Anna was recognized by the  Upper Midwest Association for Campus Sustainability with the (Re)Cognition Emerging Leader Award.
