Starting a new Team?
With the goal of re-igniting interest in SD Science Olympiad, we have begun developing a plan to invite teams who have not been involved with SD Sci-Oly in over 4 years. We refer to this as our "SD Sci-Oly Startup" program!
To qualify as an SD Sci-Oly Startup team, you need to meet the two following conditions:

NOTE: Startup Teams which place in events will be excluded when determining the State Champions and qualifications for the Science Olympiad National Tournament.
To qualify as an SD Sci-Oly Startup team, you need to meet the two following conditions:
- Not have had a membership in a state tournament in over 4 years
- Unable to field a full roster of students (~15), and not more than 8 students overall (excluding alternates)
- Plan to participate in no more than 11 events (Recommended breakdown: 4 Knowledge, 4 Laboratory OR 4 Build, and 3 Build OR 3 Laboratory events)
